Dear Mom

Updated: Oct 13, 2020

Happy VD, everyone!

On this fake holiday, I was gifted with a very thoughtful letter from Wednesday.

The kind that makes you believe in love, hearts, puppies, and waiting until the next day to shank your fellow man.

I believe she intended this to show me what she wanted to express in a Foreward, and that she just isn't confident with the whole 'writing it out' part. Let alone having any down time to use.

So, I am going to add it here, as my blog, for this post.

She wrote almost 4 pages and really, truly made me feel the warm and fuzzies before she went off to school.

"Dear Mom,

First of all I would like to say, "Happy Valentine's Day!" I know you have put up with a lot this year and I would like to apologize for my actions. I am here to also tell you how much I appreciate you and your hard work. You are a human lie detector, Therapist, and most importantly, my Mom. If you were wondering what I was hiding under my dresser, this is it.

I hope that while reading this, it might make your day. I believe while you are reading this, I will be at MMA. (>>>She couldn't wait so I got to read it this morning<<<)

But, to brighten the mood, I hope you are relaxed and having fun. Hopefully you are watching a good movie that you and Dad finally agreed on. But, I would enjoy it if we could take the time to focus on everything that you have done for me...

For starters, you put up with yours truly and your husband, AND not to mention 3 dogs! If you decided to read this far, no this isn't a not about asking for a rabbit. Now, let me please continue. You dress me (or allow me to dress like a hobo sometimes), and make sure I look like a beautiful young lady ;) OH! Not to mention, all of my "teen drama" you put up with. I might be a drama queen or a spoiled brat at times, but always remember that I am YOUR drama queen.

Now I would like to take a moment and talk about how beautiful of a Mom you are. From your glowing sexy, dexy, cutie, patootie hair, to your slick, satin model toes, you are always making others smile around you. Even if it isn't the case for you. You could help solve problems in a second and don't do it for show. You are both beautiful inside and out. Though I might not be the greatest paintbrush for getting the job done, you make sure to tell me how proud you are of me, even if I'm not trying you help me get it done. So thank you for all that you do. No matter if you are wearing your robe to McDonald's, or running in the rain to get my lunchbox, you don't fail to always be ladylike and have manners and respect. And because of your actions, you are one of the best role models. This might be the cheesiest thing you have read, or I have written, but I mean every word.

Though I might not be the cute little "Cotton Head" that I used to be; "Mommy is the best girl ever, when she goes to school, her's will be the best girl ever, that's why Mommy is the best girl ever!" (>>>From a video when she was 3<<<)

You have shared so many laughs with me I can't EXPLAIN it! Though I still don't understand how you could feed a poor innocent girl like me "kickets", but I'll let that one slide. (>>>When little she would say she couldn't eat things because they had 'cricket's in them.<<<)

Not only do you let me get away with so much stuff, but you never get tired of telling me how much you love me. No matter if it is to the, "Moon and Back!" or "More Than the Stars in Our Galaxy!" I love you so much more.

If I could write a number of how many times I think about how lucky I am to have you as my Mom, it would take up the air we breathe in around us. I will always remember how you would sit and watch me on stage, no matter if it was singing, dancing, playing the violin, or fighting. You are always there for me. I can hear your clapping, cheering, or "WEDNESDAY, KEEP YOUR HEAD UP.....YOU HAVE ONE MORE MINUTE!" No matter the occasion, you clap and cheer me on like you're winning the lottery (maybe a bit less).

Also, let's not skip out on how INCREDIBLE your cooking is. No matter if it's pot roast, pork, steak, or cereal, your cooking never stops to amaze me. Without you, I would have (obviously) died. Your cooking could defeat Gordon Ramsey in the ultimate Mortal Kombat fight.

Did I forget to mention all about how you take me to all of my doctors appointments? No matter if I have hip problems, finger problems, toe problems, or just plain check ups, you are my RIDE.

Speaking of rides, you're giving me a NEEEEEEW CAAAAAR! Or just the old Chrysler 300, as you have said. But I can already see myself as a hottie in High School, bee bopping around in THE BLACK PEARL.

But to get back on track; Just another reason why I love you so much. You give me all of your things (even if I haven't taken very good care of some) and even share your food (when I beg repeatedly)! You always keep our house clean. We never have dirty laundry. No matter if there are people coming over or just a family day, you always make sure that we have the best of everything.

And also, you made such a hottie of a daughter. I will know how to properly care for myself, carry myself, and be independent because of you. You teach me how important it is to be an educated young woman, so yet again, I thank you.

Thanks for everything. I love you Mommy!

Happy Valentine's Day,

Goose <3"
